If you are new to my blog … “Welcome” and if you are one of my longtime subscribers, “Welcome back”! I took a long hiatus from writing for the blog, choosing after my Mom passed away last year to devote all my time to finishing the manuscript for my first book. With the book now finished and in the hands of my editor/agent, it is time to move forward and turn my attention in new directions, and on the path I feel The Lord is leading my work. First up, was the transformation of my website to reflect a few of those changes. This new path includes taking the daily prayers I have shared on my Facebook fan page now for several years and creating full devotions from many them. So you will find a new link here on the website just for those weekly ‘Devotions’. I would also like to go deeper into some of the inspiration behind the prayers/art/poetry from time to time here on the blog as there are often interesting stories behind them.
I have also with the help of a wonderful graphic artist, been working on doing some branding. I hope everyone likes the new logo! Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below. And I have been playing with my art, and taking a lot of classes in an attempt to find out just what new medium is a fit for me other than digital art! I love all of it so perhaps mixed media is where I belong.
This past year and half as I’ve written the book has been a time of deep inner reflection and growth for me especially since this book is a memoir. My only regret in writing it is that Mom wasn’t here when I finished it., She was so excited about this book and had long told me my story needed to be shared with others. I pray that wherever her spirit is she happy with the story I told.
I hope this post hasn’t been too boring …. 🙂 But I really wanted to touch base in this first post with my online friends and family to let you know what I’ve been up to. I promise to let all of you know here the moment my book has a publishing home! I’m very excited about it!!
So please tell me what you think about the websites transformation and the new logo? Are there particular topics of faith that you’d like to talk about here? Please leave your comments and thoughts below. I’d love to chat with each of you!
